It Seems Like It Was Only Yesterday

This is a picture of me and my oldest daughter, Jill, from about 22 years ago, the year she graduated from high school. She is now 39 and today she and her husband, Joel, celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. I know it is trite to say, but I sometimes just can't believe how fast the years go by.

I just heard one of you ask, "If this is about her wedding anniversary, why this picture instead of maybe a wedding picture?" Good question. It seems that I am such a bad mom that I couldn't find a wedding picture. I know I have them, lots of them, I just don't know where they are right now. It must have something to do with the faster time goes the older (and more forgetful) I get. And it seems like just yesterday when she graduated from high school

I say they celebrated today, and by celebrated I mean that they spent the evening as they spend many evenings as the parents of two boys, at a kid's baseball game. This one was in 50 degree temps with occasional rain.

Happy anniversary to Jill and Joel.

I suppose I should offer to babysit so they can go out and have a more romantic celebration. I guess I just did.

were you there too in the cold rainy weather? I wonder how much of a die hard Grandma game watcher I would be??? The girls are not into sports right now...makes me sad. I want a little fast pitch pitcher (o:

  3. Happy Anniversary to Jill and Joel! I wish them many more years of happiness and married life together!! Loved the picture of you and her, Jeanie. It does go by so fast, doesn't it?

I'm sure it will be a treat for them to be able to go out knowing you are watching over their precious children!

  7. Happy Anniversary to Jill and Joel! I love the picture. Doesn´t matter that it´s not from their wedding, since time is flying by so fast, who has time to look for pictures, right?
I love how they support their kids games even on such a special date and in that weather.

  13. Wow! Your daughter is gorgeous and I can see where she gets those genes from. I was just wondering how it got to be Friday when I thought it was only Monday yesterday. Time seems to be speeding up the older I get.

I know where my daughter's wedding photos are only because I'm busily scanning photos right now. It's my retirement project.

  14. Nice way to wish your daughter and son=in-law a special anniversary. I know what you mean. My daughters have kids and are so busy with their lives but it is a shock sometimes to think of how much time has gone by. When you do find a photo of your daughter and son-in-law when they married and one of them today, I hope you post it. Have fun babysitting.
