Cake

I love cake, but it is not something I have very often, at least not usually. The last week has been a cake bonanza for me. Last Saturday, for Anna's birthday, there was a yummy chocolate cake. Sunday for Jared's first communion party, cake again. There was an end of school picnic at Jared, Hope and Justin's school on Thursday and they had cake. Lots of cake. All kinds of cake with all kinds of fillings and frosting-a cake lover's jackpot. Today for Hope's birthday party, Joanna made the cake pictured above-a really cute and delicious flip-flop cake. Tomorrow is Brandon's graduation party, and I happen to know there will be cake. I might have to snag a piece to save and eat gradually for a few days. I'm not sure I can quit go cold turkey. Hmm...I did see a really great looking strawberry-key lime cake at Sam's yesterday.

Pedis and Lunch for Mother's Day

Joanna had a great idea, a girls day for Mother's Day, so pedicures and lunch is what we did. It was a great time and we all came out with great looking toes as shown below.

Ooh, this water is a little too hot!

All done, and looking great. If our toes look a little chubby, it might be
because this was right after a great Mexican food lunch, which was
perfect for this cold and rainy day.

Proud, Proud, Proud

May is a busy month in my family. There are 4 birthdays, Doc, Anna, Joanna and Hope. In addition to the birthdays, this year there are 2 graduations. Brandon is graduating from college and Justin is graduating from kindergarten. I am very proud of both of them. They are both moving into new phases of their lives, with a lot of new and exciting things ahead of them. They will both meet their new challenges with spirit to spare.
