  1. Oh Wow! Now that's a shock! Blow in her face and she'll follow you anywhere? Good gosh!

  5. Things really have changed! My mother was told to drink beer while she nursed her first born because she was having trouble producing milk. She said she sat down and drank a beer when she nursed. She relaxed, the milk "let down" and she produced more milk. She really was never much of a drinker, but I guess during her nursing days she was.

  6. Just remember: today's madness and 'common sense"
    will appear just this foolish
    tomorrow...strangely comforting...

  7. Some of the ads aimed at women and kids today probably aren't much better. But as a kid I loved to read my mom's Good Housekeeping magazines, and I saw lots of ads like those first two. (Somehow, the messages didn't seem to take; I never loved household appliances.)

  8. It is amazing how ideas change over the years! I have to say though that I could kiss my Dirt Devil vacuum since the one before it couldn't pick up anything.

  9. I wonder if the men who made the ads back then knew how they sucked and especially the ads about what to give children, or they were just idiots. Ha.

  11. Amazing to think people actually believed that crap years ago~!
Though I know drinking a little beer IS GOOD for breastmilk production!

  15. Hahahaha! Those are great! I can honestly say that when I got my Orek vaccuum, it was not a gift, and I didn't lie on the floor with it in a happy trance!
They're all good. Thanks for sharing.
