He Could Have Just Brought Me His Leash

If you have a dog you know they have a way of learning your routine, especially the parts of your routine that have to do with them. I take our dog, Dodger, for a walk first thing in the morning and just before we go to bed at night.

One of the things I do just before the walk, both morning and night, is put a bra on. It just seems like the polite thing to do before going out on a public street now that my 36 B is beginning to turn into a 36 long.

Every night around the time that we usually walk Dodger will come sit by me, looking at me and waiting, almost as if he has checked his watch and knows it is time.

Last night I was busy doing something important (probably playing computer Mah Jong) and it got well past the normal time for our walk. After sitting patiently waiting for what he apparently thought was way too long, Dodger made a doggy sound equivalent to a sigh and left the room. He went to the laundry basket in my closet, pulled out a bra and brought it in and dropped it at my feet, telling me in no uncertain terms that it was time for a walk NOW.

I got the message, we went for a walk.

He could have just brought me his leash.

  1. See, I told you Doc was right - Dodger belongs in Hollywood! He's a natural talent with character to spare!

  2. Oh my lord this is the most hilarious post you have written! everything from the 36 long to the dog knowing your habits of going braless in the house! I found these comfy pullover bras that don't pinch or hurt and I wear those. I don't care anymore either. My dog may end up bringing me a pair of PANTS! hee hee. I like wearing a nightie. Dodger is the coolest dog.

  6. I totally love it!!! At least you put your bra on..
I went to Nordstrom some months ago to buy a bra my girlfriend had highly recommended...I bought it, but to my dismay I hated it after I started wearing it. I was relieved when they took it back. A short while thereafter I am walking through Target and see a display of bras very similar to the one I took back to Nordie..I was thinking in my mind: "boy I am so glad I didn't keep the one from Nordie, this one I have on feels so much better"...It didn't take me more than a second to realize that I did not have my bra on!!!! No wonder I felt wonderful. Next time, no bra..They're cheap and oh so comfy..

  7. Love it!! Smart dog. My Iggy sits there and looks at me with those puppy eyes. If I ignore him for too long, he puts one paw on my leg. If that doesn't work, the next paw goes up. I can only ignore him for so long before the mommy guilt takes over.

  9. This is just way too funny - both the dog and 36 long. I had never thought of that before but it is all too true at my age.

  15. I hope you didn't use the bra instead of a leash. I love Dodgers grin of satisfaction with the bra next to him. I think that's a Body by Victoria bra. Am I right?

  16. You are so funny. And the dog knows you like a book! I am still laughing. I had "Stitch and Bitch" at my house Wednesday and told my friends that I felt positively dressed up for an evening out, 'cause I put underwear on! So, I know what you are talking about. Too funny!
