If I haven't said it before or said it enough, my family is the best thing in my life. Though none of us are perfect and there were some less than perfect years in my life when my kids were growing up, we all got through it together. Of course we love each other, but the icing on the cake is that we like each other. As family goes, it doesn't get better than that. The following is from a recent post on my daughter Joanna's blog.

Thanksgiving was fun, fun, fun! We spent the day at Mom's with aunts, uncles, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and dogs. We ate a lot and enjoyed spending time with everybody. I can honestly say we do not have one of those "let's make it through the holidays so we don't have to spend time with these people anymore" families.Thank goodness! It was a fantastic day! .

Thanks, Joanna

  1. No kidding! That was awesome. Way to go Joanna!

It's really an amazing thing when you survive those awful teenage years and come full circle back to the pure and happy love you started out with - before teen hormones and angst took over. My son tuned 22 yesterday and my daughter is 19. We have so much fun together now. In fact, I took them both to lunch yesterday and we were like great friends chatting and laughing over our meal. As we left the restaurant, my son put his arm around me. Bliss!

  3. Liking each other is very important! My siblings are all very different, but we try to respect each others "flaws" and we get along. I´m glad you had such a good Thanksgiving together.

P.S. Something is wrong with your blog. I noticed it last time I was here, and it still looks that way. The header is gone and it is all html code up there. Maybe you can have your daughter check it out.

  7. I'm so glad you had a nice day! We enjoyed ourselves, too! If we had all the cousins and aunts and uncles and grandmas, however, it might not be such a pleasant event! That's what's nice about living 2,000 miles from the rest of the clan!

What a nice thing for your daughter to blog!

  9. First time visitor! I love this by the way. I love my family too, and hope that I raise my own children to feel that as well.
