Christmas Greeting

Christmas comes
But once a year
And when it comes
It brings good cheer

The reason that
It brings good cheer
Is that it comes
But once a year.

Suppose it happened
once a week.
I'd be too tired
to write or speak.

But struggling with it
One time yearly
I've still got strength
to say sincerely

Merry Christmas

I received this Christmas greeting from a friend who gave me permission to share it.
I love a nice honest sentiment.

I just read Fridays...glad you are getting the tooth thing taken care of...what a pain it can be. It must have been so much fun to see your GD in a play like that. I bet you were just glowing.
So glad we are not dealing with a bunch of snow. Remember a few years back when it snowed before Christmas and snowed and snowed and never really melted until Spring. Enough to make you want to move South.

  3. Love it! Catching up on my reading - read Friday's post - I just found out I have a cavity under a crown and depending on how far advanced it is, I may need it pulled! I hate dentists. You had more snow than we did - this has been a crazy fall! I hope we don't pay for this in the spring!

  4. Love this poem. Speaks from my heart too. I love this season, but I´m also so glad when it´s over. Does that make sense? I mentioned that yesterday in our break room (that I´d be glad when it´s all over) and everyone looked at me like I was crazy. They are all much younger and most of them are not married, so they don´t get it yet.
Hope you are having a good week!
    Hugs!

  8. Totally real...My words exactly, now why couldn't I have thought of that??
Christmas cheer is happening in my life. Took the time to entertain 6 women in my home yesterday and what a splendid time we had. So often we are so busy, so I decided to create a "slow down time" with good friends.

  13. I was just thinking about this recently, we wear ourselves out for one day and then "life" is back to normal the day afterwards. Same like a wedding, so much goes into planning the special day sometimes people forget to look beyond it to the actual marriage. Maybe we do the same with Christmas, put so much into that actual day; maybe we need to take that spirit of giving and helping others and carry it with us beyond Christmas. then maybe we wouldn't get too stressed out about it. or maybe I just think too much :)

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
