May Fool's Day

A conversation between my daughter, Joanna, and my 5 year old granddaughter, EJ,  on Tuesday.

EJ: Today is the last day of April
Joanna: That's what does that make tomorrow?
EJ: May Fool's Day!

It turns out that EJ was right and the joke is on us....this is what we woke up to on this May Day morning. We went from 80 on Monday to this today and it is supposed to snow all day.

No, this is not normal for us, and no, I do not love it. I sort of feel like the person I heard the other day saying, "If I hear one more person say, but, we really need the moisture, that person is going to get a snowball in the face."  What's wrong with a little rain?

I guess we won't be skipping around leaving flowers on people's doorsteps this May Day.

How is the May Day weather where you are?

  1. Temperatures here range from 69 to 85, and it has been humid, too. I love the sunshine and groan when it rains, because I hate gloomy weather.

  2. Oh no!! Not again. I'm sure you are so OVER it.
We have it hot and dry today. Not my favorite weather either, but very normal for this time of year.
    Hope your snow melts soon!

  3. Hi Jeanie, Yes we have the same thing here and I'm ready for spring, not winter. I know that we need it but seriously, the only thing I hope is that it kills all the Mayflies.
Ugh-those are bugs I hate. Stay warm today!
    Hugs, Noreen

  4. I'm so sorry....we are in the 80's but will drop to 38 in the morning...crazy...

  5. It's been snowing today but it hasn't begun to accumulate. Yet.

  6. I sounds like Colorado is really in for a blast today...and I don't mean a good time...I mean a winter blast. We are supposed to have snow too but I cannot imagine as we look out at our third day of sunshine and lovely warm temps.

  7. oh, my! I don't love it either. Hope it melts very, very fast, my friend. And yes, it was May Fool's Day for you!

  8. Yep, 85 here today and rain for the next four days! I love the "May Fools Day" quote! I think it would be fun to make every first of the month a "fools" day. At least we would start out the month on a happy note! Good post! Hope this is the last of your snow!

  9. I'm pretty sure we are done with snow in NJ. We did not have much this Winter.

  10. Promise not to hate me?
    *75-80, with evening showers.
Maybe you will feel better if I tell you we are in for daytime highs in the 60's for the next couple of days.

  11. Jeanie, A friend E-mailed me this AM to tell me Breck already had 16" and it was still snowing. No snow here in UT - thank goodness. We're currently at Bryce.

  12. I hate to say - our weather is better then yours. Sorry. sandie

  13. I'm with you on this. I am more than ready for some flowers and I am over this cold weather. Grumble, grumble.

  14. I sorry to tell you that the weather here in Hawaii is pretty normal. I wouldn't relish snow in May. Good grief! My daughter in Chicago sent me a text photo a couple of days ago of snow on the car. It melted soon enough, but this was crazy weather.

  15. Oh Jeanie, that snow is like a bad joke. Enough already!

May Day in Los Angeles was a brutal 91 degrees. Today (May 5) it's a cold 55 with rain forecast.

And people say there is no global warming!
