Jolly Pink Elfus

You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry.........

My youngest daughter's family is having fun with the Elf on the Shelf this Christmas season.

The elf is an elf scout sent from the North Pole by Santa to families with kids to keep an eye out on who is naughty and nice and report back to Santa. He turns up in a different place in the house every morning and the kids have to find him to see where he will be watching from for the day. Each  family gets to name their elf......my daughter let each of the kids contribute to the name. Hope chose "Jolly", Beck wanted "Pink" (his favorite color) and EJ  chose "Elfus", so their elf is Jolly Pink Elfus. He especially likes to see nice deeds to report back to Santa.

Jolly Pink Elfus

I don't think I need an elf at my house to report if I'm naughty or nice, but I sure could use a Jolly Diet Elf to keep an eye on things around here through the holiday season.

  2. This is the first year for me to hear of this Elf tradition. A child star visiting Jay Leno last Monday night mentioned it and now you have and that is the extent of my knowledge. Wish I had known about it earlier when we still had young folks around.

  3. What a great tradition! First time hearing of it. Wonder if the elf's reports will be positive or negative. Lol.

  4. I love the Elf on the Shelf! Before the kit came out, I purchased small versions from Oriental Trading and placed each one in the kid's rooms. They knew they were being watched!. Having it turn up in a different spot every morning is a wonderful tradition. This way, the whole family gets in on it!

I wish you luck on your "Diet Elf". Would you like me to send you one? I'd be happy to do it! My diet elf has two words..."no sugar"...so far it's working.

    Best to you, Jeanie!

  7. I love the name of the elf! I follow another blog who is doing the elf too; she had to put an alarm reminder on her clock to hide the elf nightly at 10 p.m. after she missed hiding him one night and he was in the same place the next day :)

I'm with you; I need a Jolly Diet Elf indeed!

  12. NOW I get it! I've seen this in passing but never stopped to actually understand what it's all about. I'm guessing the kids LOVE it. It's a great idea (wish I'd thought of it ;-)

  13. Jeanie I definitely don't want Mr Elf watching me! Glad Justin is feeling much better - that was scary. I'm in Denver, and I think we're due for some chilly weather and maybe even a few snowflakes. My littlest granddaughter has her piano recital at DU this weekend. Keep walking, no matter what the pedometer says! Have a good Dec.
