I May Be A Baby Boomer, But.....

Holy Moly! Yes, I am a Baby Boomer, but this newspaper ad directed toward the Boomer generation did way more to make me feel depressed than it did to make me interested in attending the event.

It may be a little hard to read, but the exhibitors include several funeral homes, numerous assisted living facilities, memory care centers and a couple of places for people who have hearing problems. Throw in a couple of hospitals and clinics, an anti-aging skin cream company, a mobility company and another senior housing place or two and the fun has just begun.

I know, I know, this is probably all good information for someone my age, but I think I may just go to a movie that day.

I'm afraid to even imagine what the door prizes and snacks might be.

  3. Oh I am with you on this. As a baby boomer myself I still feel young (and probably delusional). I keep pretending - age is a state of mind lol. Visiting your blog from Betty's blog and will be back.

Jeanie, you know what I got today??!! A very special package from a dear friend who made my day! We have NONE of such low cal goodies here and they are perfect for my sweet tooth. Thank you, thank you so much!! I don't deserve your kindness!

  7. Not, I think, my idea of a boomer occasion (I really don't want to be reminded of the funeral homes!) And, I think you're way too young for it, too!

  8. I am so tired of all the old age junk mail! I don't need a scooter, a funeral plot, cremation services, assisted living facility or anything else! I think you were wise to opt for a movie!

  9. Maybe the door prize is a set of teeth! I love that it ends at 6:30. Us old people have to get to bed early.

  10. I don't think you are of an age to need that expo yet. Neither am I and I am older than you are. My mother is in assisted living. She hates it. So does her sister in another state and other people I know. They are much older than I am. I wonder what it will be like when I reach the place that I will need help for every day things. Big sigh. But not yet.

  11. Oh, how funny - I think I'll find my fun somewhere else for the time being! Maybe they gave out laxatives or denture cleaner for door prizes!
