If You Are Taller Than I Am and Talking On The Phone You Are Too Old To Trick-or-Treat

Kids, costumes, candy and, of course, Jack-O-Lantern pizza.....another fun Halloween has come and gone.

We had a cheerleader (yes, that is my Grandson), a pirate, some kind of spooky guy, and Minnie and Mickey Mouse.

Who knew Mickey Mouse was also a pianist?

While we were Trick-or-Treating we ran across these things laid out on the sidewalk. I have no idea what they were for, but the kids were sure it was some kind of trap and left everything alone. They were definitely put there on purpose.

I decided the fun was over for me when the "kids" coming to the door started being taller than I am and were too busy talking on their cell phones to even bother to say Trick-or-Treat. My daughter had some kids come to her door at 10:30....she just let the dog bark at them.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween.

I did see some really big kids going around while on my way home. Can you imagine how much loot the kids got that were at your daughters at 10:30??? Wowzers!

  3. Your grandkids are just the cutest. I´m sure they got a lot of loot. As for the "tall" kids, I think they should set an age limit as to who is allowed to trick or treat.

  6. I totally agree.
Also, if you DRVE you're too old and if you want to go door to door you can bring ME some candy! LOL

  7. How cute with the pumpkin pizza! Hadn't ever thought of decorating a pizza like that for Halloween! Love your grands and their costumes! Beck is adorable as Mickey Mouse! We only had two trick or treaters, but as we were walking Koda we saw lots out and about, not just in our neighborhood. Lots of what I think were middle school/junior high age. Lot on skate boards; I hoped they were kind skating through sidewalks and not knocking down little kids.

  8. No, no trick or treating while you are taking a call.

  9. You said it all. If you are talking on your cell phone, you shouldn't be trick or treating.

Your grandchildren are darling in their outfits.

  10. The kids look so cute. I'm glad no one picked anything up. There might have been something frightening under there!

  11. Our bed time is eight o'clock so on Halloween night the little munchkins started knocking on the front door at six and at eight we closed the door, turned off lights, went to bed. Not many kids came here maybe twenty kids. And a couple were teenagers. But they were all so nice and polite. We bought too much candy and hubby handed out handfuls to each one. Your pics show a fun assortment of costumed grandkids. I hope they all enjoyed the day and the treats.

  12. Your grandson is very cute as a cheerleader! My daughter's neighborhood has gotten a 'reputation' as a fun neighborhood cuz some go all out decorating, so other neighborhoods bring in FLATBED TRAILERS OR PICKUPS full of kids to trick or treat! Seriously???? She runs out of candy in under 30 minutes, and then here comes some of our real neighborhood kids and there's nothing to give out! You could easily spend $100 trying to have enough candy, and it just feels ridiculous...it kind of takes the fun out of it.

  13. Great pics of your precious grands but that little pianist Mickey is just a livin' doll!!!

I too agree, if their datin', drivin' and textin', their too stinkin' old to be knockin' at my door.

God bless ya and have an splendid day!!!

  14. Love the pics of your grandchildren! We don't get trick-or-treaters here, but I would have done the the same if I were in your shoes!

  15. Hi Jeanie, I agree that when teens are as tall as my hubby, they shouldn't be out. We turned our light off around eight. Well the sun came out and the snow may melt a bit-so glad we have blue skies. I love the beauty but not quite ready for it every week, plus I lost three beautiful Mums.
    Have a great afternoon.
    Hugs, Noreen

  16. This year, we really didn't have very many trick-or-treaters. We wondered why. We also had kids coming later... around 8:00. That was surprising. I agree that if kids aren't in the spirit of things when they come to the door, they should stay home.

  17. Halloween is so fun for the kids and they clearly look happy to be celebrating!

We didn't get many trick or treaters this year :-( and most of them were teenagers, but at least they all had costumes and were in the holiday spirit.
