Grandmom's House Got Talent

Is anybody out there or is everyone still out shopping? I did not go shopping today, except for a quick trip to Starbucks for a vanilla latte.....even Starbucks was a little too crowded today for me.

Our Thanksgiving was very good and everyone had fun with our Turkey Fiesta theme.  I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures. I was probably too busy eating. Here are a few of pictures I did get.

Anna and EJ made quick work of licking the beaters after the whipped cream was done,

just in time to have a little more whipped cream on their pie.

Beck thought a little pie was a pretty good idea also.

All the cousins drawing names for exchanging Christmas gifts. There are just too many kids these days for everyone to buy gifts for everyone.

After the pies were pretty well taken care of all the kids went to the basement to create their own reality show, Grandmom's House Got Talent. They had everything from singing to magic tricks to juggling.
The two little girls had an act called "Jump" which I think was just that.....the two of them jumping. Fortunately, even full of sugar from all the pie eating, they were generous in judging one another's displays of "talent".

The pumpkin flan my sister-in-law made was wonderful.

Which reminds me there is some leftover flan in the refrigerator. I may have to go have just a tiny taste.   Leftovers are the best!

  1. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving and that play was good too - I remember the days my kids used to do that. Sounds cute. Enjoy the flan. sandie

  2. It looks like you all had a great time, and the flan looks sooooo good. (ViMae has that same pink dress with the brown sleeves and leggings. Too cute.)

  3. now that is an awesome way to keep the kiddos busy....we drew names yesterday also...

  4. Nice! Your grandkids are so cute. I love their blonde hair, something you don't see in my family. lol.

  5. Seems that the Turkey Fiesta went well! All cute pictures of your grandkids, Jeanie. I bet that play was so cute!! All in all, I think a very good Thsnksgiving!

  6. I remember how I loved licking the beaters. The kids are all so cute and the flan looks scrumpdillyicious. I'm glad you had a fun day.

  7. It looks like a big time was had by all. You know I didn't take not one picture on Thursday. Weird!

  8. I love that the kids did a mini talent show. That must have been so entertaining. The pies look really yummy and it looks like everyone is loving them.
I guess now all that´s left is the clean up... ? ;)

  9. What adorable grandchildren. We've been doing the present drawing also and really like it better. It takes some of the stress away. Oh my, that flan looks totally scrumptious! I LOVE flan!

  10. A "little pie" is always a good idea :-)

Your THanksgiving sounds a lot like mine-- Awesome.

  11. At least ya'll had leftovers!!! Our crew cleaned up every last crumb! What can I say, we're large in numbers.

How fun is a talent show with all your little cuties???

I too kick myself for not takin' pictures but when ya are so stinkin' busy it's always an afterthought.

God bless and have a great week sweetie!

    'love those little beater lickers!

  12. I can't wait til I have so many grandkids they have to draw names for gift exchanges with their cousins. And what a great idea for a reality show! Love it! Glad to see your holiday was a happy one!

  13. Sounds like you had a great time. We had a fiesta theme also this year. But no shopping for me - I don't like to shop any time of the year and only go to grocery stores after Thanksgiving.

  14. Looks like a wonderful time was had by all (o:
I love the things like kids talent show...but they always make the grownups come watch and it goes on and on.
That is cool that he won a turkey in the turkey shoot. For some reason Turkey does not sound good to me. We had it Thanksgiving day at my inlaws...but it was kind of rubbery. Then it was left out 'forever' and I was afraid of it after that (o:
Loved the picture of your dad. Great memories to have.

So is there a Monday or a Wednesday in Dec. that would work? Maybe a Friday? It is getting crazy as far as calendar dates...I am sure it is even worse for you with working so many hours (o:

  15. I miss those Talent Show days! Lots of fun. Love to watch the kids sing, dance and yes, JUMP!! Looks like everyone had a great time!
