Mailbox Romance

I know graffiti is usually considered to not be a good thing, but in this little saga in nearby Denver I find myself cheering for the brush and the paint.

Late last year someone started a romance between these two mailboxes who already seemed to be leaning one another's way.

City officials were apparently not amused and the mail boxes were painted over.

It is, however, hard to stop true love.

City officials tried again to stifle romance with their cans of paint, but new messages appeared., including

I'm here........I'm here too

More city paint, but true love triumphs again.

I don't know how this story will end, but I am voting for Mailbox Romance.

I love it! I hope they leave the mailboxes alone. Thanks for the smile.

Okay, I can see why the officials wouldn't want people to paint up everything, but this is cute and funny and what I like to call life-affirming. I hope they leave it alone this time!

Hi Jeanie, I saw this on the news - I have a feeling most people are cheering for the mailboxes! I think it's the Post Office who is in a huff (though they obviosly have other things they could worry about).

That is so cute! Now honestly, this is so innocent and not really destructive, I just don't know why the city doesn't let their romance continue to bud! I think it brings a laugh and a smile to people and I think these days that's a good thing!! But then I wonder if they are afraid it will spread to other things and an acceptance of graffiti.

Let us know of any new developments!

MAYBE now they are doing it just to see what happens next! I mean, if the town people DON'T paint over them, there will be no developments, right?

Love the humor and the art, but wonder if it is a crime to "deface" federal property. Anybody know?

Oh, I suppose it's a crime, but how would it look to prosecute this one? I'm stickin' to my story. My middle name isn't clueless for nothing!

That's really funny. I think they should just leave the lovebirds be.
