No More Charlie Sheen

It seems like the media has traded in their obsession with Lindsey Lohan for a new obsession with Charlie Sheen, only this time it's an obsession on steroids. I admit that I'm a bit of a news junkie, but I have changed channels many times lately to avoid hearing any more about Charlie-boy.

Enough already! When a national newscast leads with this kind of story, even my news-junkiness takes a nose dive. Aren't there more important things to report, like maybe what is going on in Libya or what our own lawmakers are going to do to us next? I'd even rather hear more about the price of gas than hear another one of Charlies's rants.

Oops, I guess I just did a little ranting myself.....sorry, but thanks for letting me get it off my chest.

Do you agree that this Charlie obsession in the media is a little (or a lot) over the top?

  2. Way over the top! I just hope he can compose himself, shut his mouth, and get back to entertaining us!

    Rant all you want!

  3. I hate this kind of news reporting. It is too personal, and honestly, both he and Lindsey are addicts of some kind and should be left alone. It is painful to watch a person falling apart.

  4. He has serious issues that should be personal not public. I haven't heard a lot about it until today but I still haven't figured out what's going on. I guess I'm just not very in tune with what's going on in Hollywood.

  5. Yes, Jeanie. I'm shocked that Diane Sawyer talked about this as one of her first topics when BBC devotes the whole news to important stuff.

  7. LOL, I felt that way about Lindsey Lohan when all the local news stations here were highlighting her going to court as their lead story. I have to say I've been so busy with this or that, that I haven't had a chance to get too much of what he's been saying, but I also have to say that "Two and a Half Men" is one show I'll go out of my way to watch. One can only hope he'll get his act together and sort out his life and make wiser decisions in the future

  10. I´ve read a few blog mentioning him today, but I still don´t know what happened. He hasn´t reached our news casts yet, so I guess that´s good. What did he do now?

  11. Great rant...because I totally agree!

  12. I just saw another two reports on TV about him. I loved watching his father, Martin. What a shame that the son turned out so strange and frankly... crazy. It's sad to see him deteriorate so quickly.

  13. The media will run whatever they think brings in the ratings. Morals, ethics and what's important don't enter into the equation.

When four police officers were murdered in a coffee shop in Washington state, guess what the headline news was? Yep, Tiger Woods and his mistress.

I have no respect for the media whatsoever.

  14. I agree completely! And I'm so glad my husband, grandson, and any other males in my life do NOT go by the name of Charlie because it's pretty much making me gag now every time I hear it!

  15. That one reporter from The Today Show must be covering him 24/7. It is ridiculous!

  16. Growing up I went to a school that was affiliated with programs and schools for mentally challenged kids. Most kids were cool, but about 1% of them thought it was funny to mess with them, to get them excited or otherwise worked up and then laugh at them.

The public is kind of reminding me of that 1% right now. Charlie Sheen is not well - he suddenly looks like he's in his sixties and he's undermined all his professional credibility in one day - and I just can't stop thinking how painful it has to be for his family to see it being treated as a comedy.

  17. When someone like Charlie opens his mouth and shoots himself in the foot OVER AND OVER AGAIN you can be the news media is going to go on and on about it!
    Charlie is an arse!

  18. Who? Mr. "Tiger blood"? (GAG) He really IS in another world. Comes off so arrogant and above it all. Talk about delusional! All the hoopla he is dishing out...

I hope the producers dig their heels in and move on without him... Hire a new actor to take his place. Maybe the story line can be he had a close call life experience and has "seen the light". Take the show in a new direction. Especially since it seems to be patterned after Charlie Sheen's life! Enough already!

Let his TV brother Allen be the star...he is funnier anyway!
