Every Little Bit Helps

My daughters had a garage sale on Friday. Hope, 10, and Justin, 8, cousins, are always up for a way to earn a little money so they decided to have a lemonade stand during the garage sale. They ended up expanding their sales to lemonade, donuts and chips. They stuck with it throughout the day and ended up making about $67 dollars.

Their efforts were not for their own benefit, but for the benefit of the victims of the theater shootings.

$67 is not a huge amount compared to the needs of the victims, but every little bit helps. I am very proud of these two generous entrepreneurs.

  1. It is a lot of money for ten yo cousins.

Knowing poeple care is as important to those suffering as the money.

    Nice!

  3. That's sooooooo very nice. Nice kids grow up to be nice adults, and our society needs more of those.
    Great kids!

  5. That is so sweet, Jeanie, of your grands to do this! I would have supported them hands down for what they were selling for refreshments. I remember after 2001 stumbling across a lemonade stand so kids set up to help victims and families. I gave what I had with me and then cried afterwards of their willingness to help when they were over 2000 miles away from the tragedies (this was when we lived in Montana). Our nation will prevail and will heal and will carry on because of the kindness of others as evidenced by your grands!

  11. What amazing kids. Someone somewhere has done one heck of an amazing job teaching them what is right and what is good. Such a tragic event -- to know these children care would make my heart soar, as it is twisted in pain.

  13. I love that they did this! Children like this give our future hope, don't they?

Our middle Grand is doing a diabetes walk this fall for a friend of mine who lost her son several years ago.

We are planning neighborhood flyers to collect things for a garage sale!

Thanks for the idea of selling refreshments as well to help contribute to the fund!
