I know what you are thinking.....you're thinking I'm a little off my blog mojo if I'm resorting to writing about the weather. Well, there may be some truth to that, but what I'm really doing is trying a little reverse psychology. If I actually talk about the snow that they say is on it's way, maybe it won't actually won't come. I might be left looking a little silly if I write about the big storm that never happens, but that's okay. The TV weather people will be looking silly right along with me and they have been known to be wrong before.
Actually, a 10 inch snow is not such a big deal here....it takes at least a foot or more of snow to get us really excited. The weather folks and even the news folks, on the other hand, are pretty excited about this one. I guess it is because it is the first of the season and they have been waiting a while for such "exciting news".
I will come back and let you know if my reverse psychology works and the snow doesn't come. If it doesn't work and I wake up to everything covered in white, well, I guess I'll be outside shoveling snow.
I like your reverse psychology, Jeanie. Never worked for me in Montana, LOL. Wow, early for a first big storm? But then with that much snow on the ground, if it happens, it could make trick or treating interesting come next week if it hasn't melted by then. Do let us know what comes along of the storm and stay safe!

snow...no way.....hope it misses you.....stay warm...
ReplyDeleteYou sound so calm and maybe a tad bit annoyed. You have obviously BTDT many times before. Snow totally makes me freak out. Sure hope your psychology plan works out for you. I'll be watching for a follow up post.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for this storm. I guess reality will come knocking tomorrow, or later tonight. For now, I guess I better throw another blanket on the bed.
ReplyDeleteSnow before trick or treating is just plain NOT fair. I heard your forecast on the news here in Los Angeles this morning and cringed. I know it's not a lot of snow for you but it's just too early for it to start.
ReplyDeleteDress warm and bundle up! xo jj
Hi Jeanie..
ReplyDeleteI didn't try reverse psychology..
Instead I spent most of yesterday outdoors in the GORGEOUS 80 degreee weather.. photographing our fantastic autumn colors.. today, ran errands.. snapped a few more before heading to the grocery store.. and fought the crowds who were doing the same thing.PREPARATi
ONS for the first winter storm!came home, prepared dinner, we ate and watched as the rain turned over to snow..
plenty of fun things to do INDOOR as our HIGH will only be 29!!!!
yep.I'm here in Denver also
now Heading to bed!!
warmest hugs!
Loui♥
We were supposed to get a little snow yesterday but it never came. :) Hopefully yours doesn't show its face either.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Doesn't Mother Nature know it's only October? She should wait until January for real snow. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteWe're supposed to get the leftovers of your storm, but it will just be wet and cold by the time it gets here. I'll settle for that. Can you imagine a World Series game being played in the snow? HA! We get excited about 5-6 inches here!
Hoping for the best for you!
There ya go...ya done went and said that 'nasty' S word!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I thought of you gals this mornin' when I heard the weather. I sure hope that reverse psychology works for ya!!! Heck, mind if I try it???
I stacked a pile of firewood at the back door, piled wood on the kindling in the fireplace to prepare for the cold front that's pushin' in this afternoon. There I said it!!! Take that cold weather.
I do have to tell ya, I was outside in my shorts and flippies gaherin' firewood 'cause it was 82 yesterday. (Weather can turn on a dime here) I just had to laugh at myself thinkin', "what's wrong with this picture!!! Heeehehehe!
God bless ya sweetie and have a wonderful day. I'll be right over with a couple mugs of hot cocoa! :o)
Wowee, snow??
ReplyDeleteI'm snow not ready...
We have a bit just south of you, but not sticking to the roads. I was actually hoping for a ginormous storm but doesn't look like it'll happen. Your reverse psychology must be to blame. :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy!
We get snow on top of the volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii, but October is way too early for that. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteYou are surely outside - shoveling! (Still snowing here in Breckenridge.)
ReplyDeleteJeannie - I saw the news - I'm sorry - but Colorado - I'm thinking snow.
ReplyDeleteSandie
It seems like your plan went about as well as the years I tried to use reverse psych on my teenagers...not too well - ha!
