I was looking for a remote for some TV or another and I realized that keeping up with remote control devices is becoming as big a problem for me as keeping up with passwords. There are just too many.
Yes, we have too many TVs, some with more than one remote for reasons that are beyond me to figure out. On top of that there are remotes for a ceiling fan, a DVD player, a space heater in the garage, a patio awning and I don't know what else. There are least a couple left out of the picture because I was too lazy to go down to the basement to get them. (I guess if I wasn't too lazy to get up and walk across a room to turn off a TV I wouldn't have this problem with too many remotes). I do laugh at myself when I use a remote to change the channel on the TV while I'm walking on the treadmill instead of walking over to change it.
Since I'm a little confused about what all these remotes go to now that I've gathered them up for this picture now may be the time to chuck them all.
May the force be with you when you try to figure out which device those belong to. We have several but not near that many. It makes me crazy when I can't find the remote. I will literaly tear the house up to find it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a heck of a lot remotes! Remotes drive me crazy. I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to even turn my daughter's TV on upstairs. I finally have my own down pat, but sometimes I babysit upstairs.
ReplyDeletewe call them the button..and everyone goes nuts if the button is missing...
ReplyDelete.....or label 'em! Heeehehehe!!!
ReplyDeleteGirl I think you just hit on why obesity is hittin' our nation (rear~end...back porches) so hard. I've just had a light-bulb moment...it's the dang remotes!!!
No tellin' how many calories we don't spend not gettin' up to turn something on, change channels, turn up/down the volume or just turn it off!!!
God bless and have an amazin' evening sweetie!!!
I love when my hubby is right by the TV and has no idea how to turn it on without the remote! Cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteLOL....Jerry sleeps with ours....
ReplyDeleteYou have ALL those remotes? Amazing... We only have one TV, but still have remotes for the Playstation and sound as well as for the TV...
ReplyDeleteOh Man!!!
ReplyDeleteonce you move them around...it would be a pain to figure them out (o:
My Grandkids are mich better at figuring out how to work them than I am. Crazy world.
Sadly we have the same problem.
ReplyDeleteAt least our 'main' tv only has one remote to do everything !
LOL; I'm sure there is some type of support group for those who have too many remotes and no idea where they go to! We are finding remotes here as well as cell phones and glasses. We have piles around here to collect them before we decide what to do with them.
ReplyDeletething is, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV with our last remote we got from the cable company before we moved. It took a strange combination of numbers to turn it on that I could never remember. Thankfully our new cable company's remote is more "people friendly :)
enjoy the weekend!

True story -- Rick has so many remotes that last year (after his bike crash) I gave his ruined jersey to a seamstress to make a cushion for the sofa. The front would be solid. The back would have the bicycle jersey pocket and this would hold the remotes.
ReplyDeleteHe loves the pillow. Does he use it for remotes? Nope. They still get lost -- and what the heck ARE they for?
I have the exact same problem. Perhaps I don't have quite as much, but they drive me crazy!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, did you toss out the remotes? One way to get rid of some of them is to use a universal remote in place of each remote.
