Happy Birthday has been the thing to say in my family this week. We started out the week celebrating with my granddaughter, Anna, who turned 3. She had a great big cake and she took blowing out the candles very seriously.
Both of my littlest girls are now 3. I love seeing what good buddies they are becoming.
Friday was the day to celebrate with my youngest daughter, Joanna. A massage and pedicure, dinner out and a hug from her daughter, Hope, made it a special day for her.
Today was Hope's turn to celebrate turning 9, and Hope loves to celebrate. She started out with a roller skating birthday party with her friends this morning and has lots of plans with her family for the rest of her big day.

It seems like around here the fad for Silly Bandz has given way to a fad for feathers in your hair. Lots of the little girls at Hope's party sported these feather hair extensions.
I asked one of the girls what they were called. She just looked at me, clearly saying "DUH" in her head and answered "feathers." I guess my brain is a little sugar-addled from eating too much birthday cake.
Little girls are just the cutest things. Seeing pictures like this brings back memories of my own at that age. Of course now, all my grandchildren are boys, so I'll have to wait for a granddaughter to come along.
ReplyDeleteThat cake for Anna looks bigger than she is. Happy birthday to all your girls.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of or seen the feather fad. They do look cute in the hair.
Beautiful girls! Happy Birthday Everyone.

ReplyDeleteCAKE

Feathers....DUH...I can just see that face.
Fades don't last long do they?
Happy belated birthday to Anna! What a big cake she had! It is neat she is close in proximity to her cousins too so they can grow up the bestest of friends! Happy belated birthday to your daughter too! sounds like she had a great birthday celebrating it with you too! And happy birthday to Hope! How fun with the skating party plus all her other "surprises" for today. I wonder if the feather fad came in part from Steven Tyler who wears something with feathers in his hair sometimes on American Idol. Your daughter/grand-daughters are all beautiful!

Very cute feathers. I love following little girl stories on your blog, as I only have sons.
ReplyDeleteYou really do have the most beautiful girls in your family! Happy Birthday! That cake is so huge and I'll bet it was scrumptious, too!
ReplyDeleteThey're such pretty little girls. We celebrated a couple of birthdays today too. First Born turned 30 and Gus turned 1.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you have!
ReplyDeleteThose girls are PRECIOUS!! Beautiful women in your family Jeannie...LOL...I hate it when the gap in my aging process is in direct proportion to the age difference with little ones...DUH! is such an international term...
ReplyDeleteOh, those girls are hilarious! Love that enormous cake!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking family you have. Happy Birthday to all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a festive week! Sounds like so much fun, feathers and all. You truly do have an exceptionally lovely family. Such beautiful smiles! Just looking at these photos made me grin.
ReplyDeleteLots of birthdays going on in your life lately. All special though.
ReplyDeleteI do like your daughter and her daughter hugging.
As for the feathers, I remember wearing real feathers in my long hair. I would today too but my hair is very short right now. So glad you all enjoyed each birthday celebration.
