What's Wrong With This Picture?

In the spirit of Highlight's Magazine for kids or The Weekly Reader that I loved when I was a kid, I have a  question for you.

What's wrong with this picture?

Yes, you got it right.....there is not supposed to be snow when the Tulips are blooming. We got about another inch this morning after I took this picture, but it has melted pretty fast.

Springtime in the Rockies. You've gotta love it!

  1. Girl, I'm gonna stop complaining about my late bloomers. We've had frost in the past couple days but not snow. It was 80 today. Ya never know what kinda day your gonna wake up to 'round here. Heeehehe!!!

Have a great evening filled with sweet dreams!!!

  3. LOL, I caught it before I saw your comment about the snow. Having lived in Montana, I can truly relate to those springtime snows. But the nice thing was they didn't stay around for too long :)

the latest we got snow the years I lived up there was May 25th when we got 6 inches of it.

  4. Tim Tebow's not gonna know what hit him, poor lad. Being a Florida boy and all.

I have company coming next week from NY. Called yesterday and they had snow flurries too! And they're not even up in the Rockies.

The strange weird wacky weather continues. We'll probably have the steamiest summer too with record breaking hurricanes. Oy!

  6. We used to live in Colorado, so I remember those spring snows! BTW, the color of those tulips is beautiful!

  7. It is apparent as soon as I looked at the picture, lovely huge tulips and snow on the sidewalk and ground. Do the tulips survive?

  8. You would think all of us would get used to our flowers of spring being pounded by snow and wind at least five times a year.......but we never get used to it, do we? Hope springs eternal, I guess.

  9. The tulips are gorgeous...the snow so-so. Used to live in Colorado Springs...beautiful country.

  10. I know what you mean. I was out early to scoop the heavy wet stuff off my tulips and the two pots I planted last week -- one with rosemary and one with pansies. The darling pansies were huddled under at least two inches of snow but weren't frozen, thank goodness. Your pink tulips are lovely -- for some reason, I only have yellow and red. Must add some other colors when I plant bulbs this fall.

  11. The color of those tulips is beautiful. Around here there are mostly white and yellow ones. Light pink? So sweet! About that snow? Just shoot me if it snows here now. It was a really hard winter. I'm done with snow, ice and cold for now!!

  12. Jeanie, I love being in the Rockies any time of the year! We didn't go last year but did the year before. From Nebraska to Telluride we drove and then spent a few days with friends there. Some of that is on my blog.

Your tulips are very pretty not even having opened yet. They must be beautiful flowers. Do you have a green thumb?

  15. Wow.....living in NC, I didn't realize that you could still be getting snow. Amazing contrast. I am going to have to show it to my kindergarten class. They will love it.
