Went to South Pacific last night
I went to a high school production of the musical South Pacific last night. I love all of the old Rodgers and Hammerstein's musicals and South Pacific is one of the best. The high school cast did a very good job and I tried not to embarrass myself too much by singing along too loudly.
One of Emele De Beque's children was supposed to have been played by the little 5 year old boy, Addison, that I wrote about in my last post. He has just been diagnosed with Leukemia so he was in the hospital instead of on stage. A portion of the program was dedicated to Addison, showing him in this picture surrounded by well wishes from the high school cast of the play.
Thank you to everyone who has offered prayers and healing wishes for Addison.
Sounds fun, and how sweet (and heart-wrenching too!) Happy 6WS!

I know Addison was missed by his classmates and teachers. Nice picture of him with the cards. I too love musicals. You made me laugh, it is easy to forget and not belt out a good tune when attending a live performance.
ReplyDeleteWhy not "North Pacific," Rogers/Ham?
ReplyDeletealways enjoyable to go to musicals like this; always so much work put into them! nice touching thing to do for Addison too

I love musicals as well! And it is wonderful that part of the proceeds are going to Addison.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
I think high school musicals are great, and they are a great way to showcase for teenage talent. They showed a lot of compassion by including Addison's picture. I'm sure it made the night ever more so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that his classmates are remembering him with well wishes. I will continue to hold little Addison up in my prayers. I love to hit the High School productions.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have a fun weekend!!!
So happy for you...I love musicals too!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for Addison! I will pray for him.
That's so sweet of his classmates to still include him in some way. Thanks for playing 6WS.
