I am glad Thanksgiving is over.
I don't mean this in a bad way at all. I had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. I shopped for, cooked and cleaned up after (all with lots of help) a big meal for a lot of people. Shopping, cooking and cleaning are not, not, not, a part of my regular routine . It was fun and now it's over. It's good to have a good thing behind you. And, best of all, now I get to eat leftovers.

Like Dr. Seuss said "Today was good, today was fun. Tomorrow is another one!" I feel the same way! Kinda like Thanksgiving is a dress rehearsal for Christmas. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI am about the most tradition-less woman in the world, I think. Outside of forced participation in Christmas with my in-laws for 35 years in a row...well, we finally got THAT broken last year, hallelujah! Not that I don't love them...I do. But I am soooooooo into just going with the flow. Especially as I'm getting older. The easier the better. Life's too short. I was just saying to Dear Hubby on Thanksgiving morning as we were riding thru the quiet countryside, headed out to an archery range we both love to go to - him to target shoot, me to read - I am not now, never have been, and never will be a "typical" woman. And you know what he told me? He said that's what he loves about me.
ReplyDeleteEating leftovers—
ReplyDeletethe best part of Thanksgiving
(if you like turkey).
My Six Words
ah....leftovers....lol.
ReplyDeleteWould love a turkey sandwich today. Other than that, I agree, glad it's over.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to be moving on to Christmas, I have a bad habit of being unable to focus on the present, always anticipating the next big thing...
ReplyDeleteSo am I! Today is football :D
ReplyDeleteI played 6ws too! http://talkinwithteenie.blogspot.com/2009/11/six-word-saturday.html
I love family gatherings with good food...:-)
ReplyDeleteand they are the best part, tasting better each day that they last. Pie is gone over here already.
ReplyDeleteLeftovers are the very best part. The hard work is done and now you can actually enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing 6WS!
Turkey sandwiches, more stuffing, and PIE!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

I started cutting back on the menu years ago so we wouldn't have leftovers for days and days and days! We now have exactly two days worth of leftovers, and that suits me just fine!
ReplyDeleteAw, Jeanie. I am glad for you too. We don't have many leftovers, just some chicken salad (which we ate tonight), a ham (which we gave our daughter about half), and a bit of apple pie. That was for Thursday evening meal, we 'ate out' for noon meal.
ReplyDelete..
Me too! I'm exhausted. But it was so much fun to see everyone and spend time with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad Thanksgiving is only once a year :-)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
