Thanks to less than perfect weather, our traditional Mother's Day picnic in the park was not a picnic at all this year. It was, however, a very nice indoor celebration that even snow on Mother's Day couldn't spoil.
The kids definitely had a good time....well, maybe this wasn't all that fun for Wil on the bottom.
In addition to Mother's Day we celebrated the five May birthdays in our family.
My oldest grandson, Jared, 13, insisted that he is now as tall I am.
I think he as about a 1/2 inch to go. It won't take long.
I did miss getting my annual picture with my grandkids on the slide at the park but the stairs
worked pretty well.
I hope Mother's Day was bright and shiny where you are.
Hi, Jeanie! I was watching the news yesterday, saw the story about winter storm watches and warnings in Colorado and thought about you. I'm sorry the weather wasn't to your liking, but I can tell it didn't dampen your family's spirits or prevent you from having a joyous Mother's Day celebration. I am delighted to see these pictures of you and your grands looking so healthy and happy. Happy birthday to the five in your family who turn a year older this month. Mrs. Shady and my own granddaughter also have birthdays in May.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, dear friend Jeanie!
Glad you all managed to have a good time in spite of the snow! We actually had decent temps and a little sun for a change. Happy Mothers Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family! This is the first time I have seen a photo of the grown men in your family.
ReplyDeletelooks like a great celebration...snow or not...
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. Those kids are growing up. We had snow also. I told my daughter not to drive down from her home near where you live. I didn't want to worry about her out on the road.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of them on the steps! I do remember your posting from before on the slide. I also did see that Colorado had less than idea weather for Mother's Day; that was a shame! But it looks like the gathering was a great one all in all!

I think you win the height contest but it won't be for long! Sounds like a lovely day, despite the picnic plans going awry. What a lovely family you have!
ReplyDeleteThat group picture on the staircase is treasure!
ReplyDeleteHee hee, he will be taller than you REALLY SOON!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a lovely Mother's Day inside, rather than out in the snow!
Snow on Mother's Day?! That's just plain wrong!!
ReplyDeleteGlad it didn't dampen the celebrations.
You have a beautiful family and it's fun watching them grow through your photos.
Snow on Mother's Day!?!?!?! I yiyi.
ReplyDeleteIt's a record-breaking 102 degrees here today. Snow sounds good to me right about now.
The grandkids are as gorgeous as ever!

Our family photos usually happen at Easter and Christmas. Since our wedding anniversary was on Mother's Day this year, we spent the week-end in Tulsa.
ReplyDeleteThat picture taken on the stairs is terrific! What a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteSnow on Mother's Day - are you kidding me!! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and enjoyable family!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had snow this month (thankfully!), but we do still have our heat on which is no fun at all. Glad you made the most of a weather-challenged Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteSigh... I can't help but be envious of all your beautiful grandchildren. I have just my one darling. What a wonderful celebration you had!
