May Fool's Day

A conversation between my daughter, Joanna, and my 5 year old granddaughter, EJ,  on Tuesday.

EJ: Today is the last day of April
Joanna: That's right....so what does that make tomorrow?
EJ: May Fool's Day!

It turns out that EJ was right and the joke is on us....this is what we woke up to on this May Day morning. We went from 80 on Monday to this today and it is supposed to snow all day.

No, this is not normal for us, and no, I do not love it. I sort of feel like the person I heard the other day saying, "If I hear one more person say, but, we really need the moisture, that person is going to get a snowball in the face."  What's wrong with a little rain?

I guess we won't be skipping around leaving flowers on people's doorsteps this May Day.

How is the May Day weather where you are?

  1. Temperatures here range from 69 to 85, and it has been humid, too. I love the sunshine and groan when it rains, because I hate gloomy weather.

  2. Hi Jeanie, Yes we have the same thing here and I'm ready for spring, not winter. I know that we need it but seriously, the only thing I hope is that it kills all the Mayflies.
Ugh-those are bugs I hate. Stay warm today!
    Hugs, Noreen

  5. I sounds like Colorado is really in for a blast today...and I don't mean a good time...I mean a winter blast. We are supposed to have snow too but I cannot imagine as we look out at our third day of sunshine and lovely warm temps.

  7. Yep, 85 here today and rain for the next four days! I love the "May Fools Day" quote! I think it would be fun to make every first of the month a "fools" day. At least we would start out the month on a happy note! Good post! Hope this is the last of your snow!

  13. I sorry to tell you that the weather here in Hawaii is pretty normal. I wouldn't relish snow in May. Good grief! My daughter in Chicago sent me a text photo a couple of days ago of snow on the car. It melted soon enough, but this was crazy weather.

  14. Oh Jeanie, that snow is like a bad joke. Enough already!

May Day in Los Angeles was a brutal 91 degrees. Today (May 5) it's a cold 55 with rain forecast.

And people say there is no global warming!

    Sheesh.
