Doc has discovered the secret to getting the best possible customer service at the businesses that he frequents in our small town. The secret is donuts. Every so often he drops into our car mechanic's shop, our dentist's office, the doggy day care, the eye doctor, the veterinarian and several other places with a box of donuts. In addition he knows that Debbie at the dentist especially likes cinnamon rolls, Brian at the car repair place prefers apple fritters, and that the women at the doggy day care favor glazed donuts all around.
It is amazing how much the workers in these places appreciate this little gift and as a result Doc is treated as a most preferred customer when he needs the service of one of these businesses. I know, I know, donuts are not a healthy thing to eat, but it sure is surprising to see how much good will a little sugar can create.
Just think if employers would treat their employees that way! sandie
ReplyDeleteI like the way Doc operates, LOL (yes, pun on words :) Very clever with his strategy to get great customer service! I know I would appreciate a donut every now and then :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Ah hah! Donuts, hunh? So that's the secret! We used to serve donuts and drinks to the carpenters doing our home renovation. I know they appreciated it. I don't know if their work was better, but they were happy.
ReplyDeleteI think it's sweet. Always a nice thing to brighten someone's day. Plus many of those places hear nothing but people complaining all day long...I'm sure its nice to feel appreciated.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm craving a donut.
Hey, send him over here to Hawaii. I could use a donut or two. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of person who takes the time and effort, not only to bring donuts, but to know what kind the people there prefer, is the kind of guy anyone would want to work with. Doc sounds like a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a "sweet" gesture! I think it is a wonderful idea and I bet they really do feel appreciated. Who wouldn't go out of their way for someone who treats them well! 2 gold stars!
ReplyDeleteNow what have I not thought of that? Sweetening them up for future is a darn good idea... lol!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom always said you catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar! Seems Doc is finding out that's true. Tell him my favorite are glazed.
ReplyDeleteSmart man!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is awesome! I might borrow that idea and do the same. A little kindness goes a long way. Your Doc is quite a guy :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
xo jj
What a great idea of Doc's!
ReplyDeleteGood for him, being smart enough and thoughtful enough to think of it! I know that always works for me!
ReplyDeleteA very nice gesture. Really, he's investing in good relationships. That is a positive thing no matter what, and it's especially helpful if a problem arises later because he has already established good will. Both a smart man and a very nice one.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Doc is one smart cookie, eerr, donut. I once read a book called "It Takes so Little to be Above Average", and your husband has already figured out those principals.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at the vet's office, we had a lady who'd bring in homemade cookies, brownies or fudge. We never felt like she was buttering us up, just that she was an extra nice and caring person - and a wonderful pet mommy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have sales reps that would bring in boxes of donuts to the office.
They always go special treatment.
Your husband is very clever!
