I don't think our neighbors will be doing any al fresco dining any time soon.

It has been a little while since I posted anything and I wish I had a really good excuse for that like a fabulous vacation or something. The truth is that the most exciting night out I had this week was a school fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A. Actually I did post an old lady story/joke earlier in the week but it seemed to have offended someone so I took it down.

It seems like Puxatawney Phil got it right on Ground Hog Day by predicting another six weeks of winter. At least for around here he got it right. We had about a foot of snow overnight and it is still coming down, with another 8 inches or so predicted. Everything is closed and I'm seriously thinking that I won't be going to work this afternoon.
I don't think our neighbors will be doing any al fresco dining any time soon.

A note to a few of the houses in the neighborhood: It's February-it might be time to take down your Christmas lights, or maybe switch out the bulbs for a little Valentine's Day decor.

Uh oh, someone is shoveling our driveway right now. If a snowplow comes down the street before noon I may be going to work after all.
Snow days are the best if you can stay home. It's supposed to be 74 degrees here today. Strange weather!
ReplyDeleteWe'll just pray for a snowplow to plow ya in. It would be a great day for a snow day!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's rainin' here but is suppose to change into frozen stuff by tomorrow. UCK!!!
God bless ya sweetie and have a marvelous weekend!!! :o)
You guys got hit up there. We barely had a dusting in Southern Colorado.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday. Have a great weekend.
Our Nova Scotian groundhog predicted the same thing...although we've been having a pretty good winter so far...but it's not over yet!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish a Chick-Fil-A was near our home. The closest is an hour away. We have them close by in Ohio where my family lives and it's always on my "to-do" list. Funny, I know, but I love their chicken.
ReplyDeleteHope the snow takes it easy on you. It would be so nice to have a "snow day off work".

I am trying to remember an old lady post??
ReplyDeleteWe did get lots of snow... heavy... it was breaking my back to shovel... so I made the Girls (o: Then the stopped and plated the shovels in the middle of the yard. lol
Ky was crying because a friends from her class emailed her saying she changes schools... oh the drama
stay warm!
Are you having a Super Bowl Party?
We are going to Tracee and Dave's... for his Birthday and the game.
Jeanie, It's hard to believe that Denver and the Foothills are getting so much snow and here n the mountains, we got just a dusting (and we badly need snow). I skied all morning - we got maybe an inch overnight!
ReplyDeleteLol. Anything to get out of going to work, huh? I love it! Not the snow, but your droll sense of humor. I am so glad I am retired and can spend leisurely days with my grandson. I don't miss the law firms and libraries I used to work for at all.
ReplyDeleteIt may be good that you got a lot of snow. Your area might be one of the few to escape drought this coming summer! Let us know whether you went to work after all (sigh) or got to enjoy a snow day.
ReplyDeleteI heard about yalls weather...we are having warm weather here in Texas...crazy...I ur can't believe your joke offended someone...
ReplyDeleteYou do have a lot of snow. Ours is mostly melted except of course in the mountains. It did freeze last night. Too bad someone got offended. I hope they were nice to you! We have people here who still turn on their Xmas lights. I think it is a little strange. :)
ReplyDeleteDang it, I can't believe I missed the offending joke.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I'm sorry for all the snow you're getting. Chicago is doing OK for now according to my daughter. Hawaii is a bit chilly though in the mid 60's. My mom says she's freezing.
ReplyDeleteStill no snow here. We're going for a hike so I don't really mind but I could just as easily curl up on the couch in front of a fire and watch snow fall : )
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
I don't remember seeing an offensive post.
ReplyDeleteI got to work from home yesterday! It was a nice surprise, the first time in 16 years at this company that I have been able to do this.
We got out today to go our sons about 8 miles away and as soon as we were out of our neighborhood (no snow plows here), the streets were just wet.
The snow plow keeps the street cleared and while they scrape the snow with the big trucks the snow clogs all our driveways. I got stuck in it yesterday. The sun is out in eastern Nebraska today, so lets hope it is warm enough to melt some of the snow. Hope it is a beautiful day where you live too.
ReplyDeleteI'm enchanted by that snow...says the lady from Arizona!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why it took me so many years, but there will always be six weeks of winter, no matter what Phil sees because of the equinoxes and spring not coming till about six weeks after -- Groundhog Day! Why didn't we all think of this sooner and take the pressure off that poor guy?!
