Dodger hasn't found a new girlfriend since his old girlfriend, Sammie, broke up with him, and like many of us when we have a broken heart he is finding comfort in food. His new favorite is Frosty Paws, a frozen, ice cream like dog treat.
It comes in little paper cups like the ones we got when we were in school that came with a flat wooden spoon. I found it at the grocery store stuck in the middle of the ice cream treats for humans. When I was checking out the clerk looked at me and asked if I knew that it was for dogs. I just got all wide-eyed and said ok, resisting the urge to say I was lactose intolerant.
Despite the maker's claim that it is a very healthy treat, we have limited Dodger to about one a week. At least I have finally talked Doc out of buying donut holes for him, or at least I have talked him out of telling me about it.
Anytime we open the freezer in the garage Dodger jumps up, runs over by the freezer and sits with his best "aren't I a good dog" look on his face. Once we give it too him his tongue starts licking and doesn't stop until the cup is empty.
Maybe Dodger will find a new girlfriend soon and lose his interest in Frosty Paws, but in the meantime, I am happy for him to find comfort wherever he can. I've been there myself. Sigh!
Dodger has received no compensation from Frosty Paws for his endorsement of their product and has no connection with the maker of Frosty Paws, except that he looks a little like the dog on their box.
My niece buys this for her dogs on their birthdays every year. She says they love it. Glad to know something is giving Dodger some comfort.
ReplyDeleteDodger looks so cute with his Frosty Paws! isn't it amazing how they just know where their treats are?? When we board Koda, one of the things the boarding place has for treats are Frosty Paws so we sign him up for them when he is there as sort of a treat :)
ReplyDeletebetty
This is funny on so many levels, and just what I need this morning!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if this is a regional thing, Frosty Paws. I've never heard of or seen it anywhere. I'll have to google it, cuz I know Oliver would love it! My shih tzu Annabelle used to ride with me a lot when I was addicted to Wendy's frosties, and I used to share them with her.
Ice cream for dogs? Never heard of it.. but he looks very cute and content with it!
ReplyDeleteI think you should have told the cashier that you are lactose intolerent! Funny! I'm glad that Dodger has found comfort in ice cream, I know that I usually do. He's a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThere's an ice cream truck for dogs parked in our neighborhood. "Cool treats for hot dogs," it says on it. I've been wondering if it was good...but I don't think it's sold in our grocery store and the truck appears to be out of commission.
ReplyDeleteHeeehehehehe! Ya got a self medicating dog there who soothes himself with tasty treats! What will they think of next???
ReplyDeleteDodger is soooooo cute, I know he'll be beatin' the gals off soon.
God bless ya and have a super day!!! :o)
my puppy loves ice cubes. Sometimes I just drop a couple on the floor and he has a ball with them. My dog is spoiled rotten with his home made dinners. When I'm cooking it he knows it's for him and he lays on the kitchen floor and just groans it's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteHe's so lucky he has you guys!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I read about Dodger and his broken heart, I feel for him. You are good. And Dodger certainly knows how to act.
ReplyDeleteOh my! That is so cool! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it that Dodger can get some enjoyment out of his Frosty Paws. I've never heard of anything like this.
OK, this is the cutest thing ever! I wonder if cats can enjoy it? And by the way, that photo -- adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Your posting is so delightful. I must get some for our doggies.
ReplyDeleteFrosty Paws is a favorite of our Tootsie. We are waiting for the right guy to come along before we let her start dating. Maybe we could work something out with Dodger?
ReplyDeleteGee, I never heard of Frosty Paws before, but if it's ice cream related, I'm interested. You could have a bowl of ice cream, and Dodger can have his cup, and the two of you could sit and enjoy dessert together. Bonding at it's best.
ReplyDeleteAnd in a cartoonish sort of way, he does resemble the dog on the package.
So cute. I had no idea there were frozen treats for dogs.
ReplyDeleteGinger, my old dog, used to love these! She would carry around the cup on the end of her long snout. She looked hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs I have now like them too. I haven't gotten them in a while. Think I'll pick some up.
